How the gold karat calculator works
Karat expresses purity as parts out of 24. 14k is 14/24 pure, 18k is 18/24, and 24k is treated as pure for this estimate.
The calculator converts weight to troy ounces, applies purity, and multiplies pure gold by your chosen spot price.
Purity and value assumptions
Formula: total weight × (karat ÷ 24) × gold value per matching weight unit.
Real items may contain solder, stones, clasps, hollow sections, plating, or inaccurate stamps. Testing may produce a different result.
Caveats
Raw melt value differs from jewelry resale, design, antique, or refiner payout value.
